Jorge Araneda Tapia Amincha

Hello my name is Jorge Arantes, I have 22 years of age. I'm in my final stage for the degree of Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography in UMCE. My first contact with the world of collecting rocks, minerals and fossils was indirectly because my family comes from an area called San Agustin, a mountainous area within Salamanca Region of Coquimbo, which is so profuse piques pirquineros old abandoned today some have been rescued by the high value of copper. To which from my childhood I was looking at my summer travel these locations and my penchant for long walks outdoors in which I was collecting small samples of sulfur and very low grade copper.

My knowledge and my passion for collecting samples of different nature was given by my college and meet my friend Steffan, administrator of this fine organization, and keep in touch with my teacher Prof. Eusebio Flores, geographer notable long path I opened this world to know your library and teach the basics of the most basic geology and mineralogy. My travels through Chile, particularly the northern regions, (a mining area par excellence) have encouraged my collection. To which 3 long years ago I embarked on the implementation of a blog itself where it will give people some information I had collected, to express something that at that time not easily found on the Internet that was high quality photographs of rocks and minerals, not professional when they have been washed with acid or other components, but as they are found in nature.
